Welcome to EPDIC18

Attending the EPDIC18 Meeting in 2024 is sure to be a captivating experience!

The 18th European Powder Diffraction Conference, EPDIC18, is scheduled to take place in Padova from August 30th to September 2nd, 2024.

EPDIC
The European Powder Diffraction Conference (EPDIC) is the only European conference completely dedicated to all aspects of the analysis of polycrystalline materials using diffraction methods.
Established in Munich in 1991, EPDICs have swiftly become key gatherings for researchers in the field, serving as ideal platforms for showcasing and disseminating new developments in powder diffraction instrumentation, analysis, and applications.
EPDIC conferences brings together experts from universities, research institutes and instrumentation companies to share their knowledge and discuss the current trends and challenges in powder diffraction.

The EPDIC in close collaboration with the Italian Association of Crystallography – AIC, invite you to Padova (Italy) on the occasion of the 18th European Powder Diffraction Conference, to participate in the activities of EPDIC18, to be held from 30 August to 02 September, 2024.

EPDIC18
The Local Organizers and the permanent International Committee of EPDIC, are crafting an enticing program for EPDIC18, encompassing the latest advancements in crystallography and related sciences, designed to appeal to both young and seasoned scientists, as well as companies.

Featuring 12 microsymposia, 24 keynote speakers, 6 plenary lectures, and 2 prestigious awards, the program will encompass a wide array of both traditional and emerging topics of interest to the powder community. These topics span materials science, methods, computing, artificial intelligence, and instrumentation.
Be sure to explore the program and submit your abstract for oral or poster presentations to share your scientific and technical findings with colleagues and engage with key figures in the field.

EPDIC18 will be a vibrant three-day scientific conference, offering abundant learning opportunities across all facets of powder crystallography, complemented by a substantial commercial exhibition.

The 15th TOPAS Users’ Meeting, the ICDD workshop, Software Fayre, lunch sessions, and an extensive social program, will round out the program.
These events will provide scientists from across Europe and beyond with opportunities to convene, connect, engage in discussions, and exchange ideas – all set against the backdrop of Padova, one of the most charming towns in Italy.
The historical centre boasts a wealth of medieval, renaissance and modern architecture. From Giotto to Mantegna, from Donatello to Galileo Galilei, Padova has been host to the greatest artists and scientists of the ages, making it a temple of knowledge.

Hoping everybody will enjoy an interesting conference and a pleasant stay, it is our great pleasure to welcome all of you in Padova.
